  • James Madison’s men’s basketball heads to Savannah for three games in three days over Thanksgiving weekend.
  • The Dukes begin the stretch on Friday against Coastal Georgia before facing South Dakota State on Saturday and Valparaiso on Saturday. Both the Saturday and Sunday games will be part of the Hostilo Community Classic.
  • The Dukes will complete a six-game stretch away this weekend. JMU is 2-1 in this stretch so far, only falling to current AP No. 1 North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During what will be the longest road trip of the season at JMU, the Dukes outscore their opponents by 256-211.
  • JMU fell 80-64 to last season’s runner-up on Sunday. After trailing 19 at halftime, the Dukes quickly moved into single digits in the second half, closing to eight, but UNC pulled out late to seal the win.
  • The dukes were led by graduate students Takal Molson, who scored 19 points from the field on a 7-of-16 day and added six rebounds and three steals against the Tar Heels. Molson has scored at least 12 points in four of JMU’s first five games.
  • Transfer to Mount St Mary Meze Offurum Season and JMU high with 12 points and eight rebounds on Sunday. He’s scored in double digits and grabbed at least six rebounds in each of JMU’s last four tilts.
  • At least four Dukes have hit double digits in each of their first five games.
  • JMU scored at least 95 points in the first four games of the season, marking the first such stretch in program history. The Dukes are still averaging 97.0 points per game in five competitions, ranking fourth nationally in offense.
  • JMU also ranks in the top 20 in Division I for forced revenues per game (20.4) and rebound margin (11.4).
  • Three players all sit with field goal percentages over .700 on at least 20 tries – Offurum (.810), Justin Amadi (.714) and Edward’s Terrace (.710). Amadi currently has the highest career shoot percentage in program history at 66.6%.
  • Redshirt Senior Vado Morse boasts an assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.0, with 16 dishes for just four freebies.

  • Coastal Georgia have lost every one of their last five games.
  • Senior Mason McMurray leads the Mariners with 16.7 points per game and shoots 52.3% from the field.


  • The Dukes meet Coastal Georgia for the first time in program history on Friday.
  • The Hostillo Community Classic will be the Dukes’ first meeting with the state of South Dakota and their third ever meeting with Valparaiso. Valpo has won the last two matchups, with the last one being decided 79-52 on December 29, 2014 in Harrisonburg.
