Galarza Represents Tech in NCAA Championships – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

THE FLATS – Liz Galarza will represent Georgia Tech’s cross country teams at the 2022 NCAA Championships on Saturday, November 19 in Stillwater, Okla. Galarza will compete in the women’s 6K race which is scheduled to start at 9:20am CT.

Galarza is the first jacket to qualify for the National Championships since her former teammate Nicole Fegans qualified for the 2020 Championships.

At the 2022 NCAA South Region Championships, Galarza finished an impressive eighth with a personal best of 19:55.4 in the women’s 6K. She was one of four jackets to receive All Region honors and had the best finish of any tech runner at the meet.

competition initiative
In a joint effort, Georgia Tech, the Georgia Tech Foundation, Georgia Tech Athletics and the Alexander-Tharpe Fund have joined forces to accelerate scholarship funding for students and athletes with the launch of the Competitive Drive Initiative. The initiative begins with the Accelerate GT Match Program, where every new donation to AT Fund’s Athletic Scholarship Fund made through December 31 is matched dollar for dollar by the Georgia Tech Foundation, up to $2.5 million . Should Accelerate GT reach its fundraising goal of $2.5 million, the gift would result in a $5 million impact to Georgia Tech Athletics.
