As we know, recruitment at the SEC never stops. Even with UGA in the middle of football season, Kirby Smart and his staff have been sending out a few offers across the country. Here we take a look at some new leads you need to follow.
Jack Ressler – 2024 – WR – Mater Dei (Approx.)
UGA has been recruiting Mater Dei High School pretty hard lately, and Ressler is the youngest of the West Coast group to receive an offer from Georgia. It’s too early to know where this recruitment will lead, but USC and Notre Dame are some of the key programs at play here.
Ressler is a smaller build at about 5’10 180, but he is extremely explosive and dangerous in space. He has a very explosive first step and is a nervous distance runner. He’s a touchdown threat on every play, regardless of how they get the ball to him. There are many things he does well in the film.
Marcelles Williams – 2024 – DB – St. John Bosco (approx.)
UGA likes their CBs that sit 6’1 and up. While Williams doesn’t fit into that mold, there’s reason to believe his skills can make up for it. Williams is one of the faster DBs in the 2024 class, and he shows it in the film. He can keep up with anyone, coming downfield aggressively and delivering devastating hits on receivers. He also has some good ball skills. Williams could play on the corner for UGA but his ability to get into the field and physicality would be intriguing to see them safe.
For now, it looks like Georgia will have to work hard to pull Williams off the West Coast. Williams has two older brothers, one playing at USC and the other at Arizona State. It could be a tough move for UGA, but with this attitude there’s still a long way to go.
Kevin Riley – 2024 – RB – Tuscaloosa County (Al.)
UGA recently entered Crimson Tide territory to offer one of the best prospects in Alabama in the Class of 2024. His recruitment is still taking shape, but Riley has a few offers from numerous SEC programs such as Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn and others.
Riley is an extremely fast and twitchy back that shows some patience and good vision. It’s hard for the defenders to trip him up, and hard for them to catch him once he hits the second level. He’s not a blue RB, but he runs with a purpose. Riley is a stock riser to pursue.
Cortes Smith – 2025 – Orienteering – Parkview (Ga.)

If you’ve been following, Smith is a potential client we’ve been telling you to follow for months. He’s started at either C or G since he was a freshman and has cemented himself as one of the top orienteering prospects in Georgia. UGA joins Penn State as the other school to offer it, and there are many more on the way. I would expect Smith to add numerous other offerings when all is said and done. If UGA is pushing then they will be hard to beat in this case.
Smith is a bulldozer in the middle of the offensive line for Parkview, frequently plowing and carving up runways at everyone in his path. Also, he is a good athlete for his size and shows the ability to get to the second level fairly easily.
Jontae Gilbert – 2025 – CB – Fredrick Douglass (Ga.)
Gilbert is committed to the state of Ohio, but we’re over 2 years away from the Class of 2025 putting pen to paper so don’t expect resolution for a while.
Gilbert fits the “UGA mold” for CBs. He currently stands at around 6’1 175 and may not have finished growing. It excels at press coverage and sticks to recipients like glue. The ball doesn’t go his way much for a reason.
The competition will be tough for Gilbert, but he’s a pattern that fits UGA and the Dawgs will make him tell them no.
