New Englanders have strong opinions. It’s part of what makes them hearty enough to make it through the region’s four seasons, sometimes all in one day. The people of New Hampshire, in particular, hold fast to their faith and are not afraid to make it known.

It’s right there in the State Quarter – in the words of General John Stark, the state’s most famous American Revolutionary War soldier. It conveys strength and independence, principles by which many New Hampshire residents live.

New Hampshire is one of nine states with no income tax and one of four without a sales tax, and if locals have their way, that’s never going to change. The businesses here love this and hope you keep visiting the state to spend your money! See #1.

New Hampshire is a constitutional carry state, meaning you do not need a license to carry a firearm openly or concealed in public. Don’t be surprised if you see a local porter at the corner shop or your favorite restaurant. See #1.

While it’s not legal to purchase these fun explosives anywhere else, certain fireworks are legal in New Hampshire and can be purchased at licensed retail stores. See #1.

New Hampshire residents are deeply divided and fairly loyal to their political positions. They will tell you what they think whether you want to hear it or not! Disagreeing? Well then you are wrong! See #1.

While another state south of New Hampshire (you know the one) might complain that winter is back (it happens around the same time every year), Granite Staters are welcoming its arrival and aren’t letting it slow them down.

Even if you’ve lived in New Hampshire for years, you’ll never truly be a local unless you were born and raised here. City dwellers and non-Here will forever be called “flatlanders.”
