Tuscan Village in Salem, NH
On the site of the former Rockingham Park racetrack in Salem, New Hampshire lies an aptly named area known as Tuscan Village. Because it really is a small village with apartments, restaurants, groceries and shops.
One could even go so far as to say that Salem has become its own little town that was once a quaint little town that now has its own city feel.
That makes New York’s Rockefeller Center Christmas cheer in Tuscan Village so much better (and a lot friendlier on the gas tank than a trip to NYC).
Holiday shops in Tuscan village
For the first time in its short existence, Tuscan Village (as it usually does any time of year) goes above and beyond for the holiday season, creating an open-air marketplace comprised of over 30 local businesses and artists for several family-friendly holiday events .
The Exchange Club of Salem Tree Market
Beginning the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 25, the Exchange Club of Salem will set up its annual tree fair across from the new Mass General Brigham Integrated Care building. The annual Christmas tree sale is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the club, benefiting other local charities (as well as families who benefit from hand-picking their Christmas tree for the season).
Tree lighting ceremony in Tuscan village
For the second consecutive year, a tree lighting ceremony will be held on the grounds of Tuscan Village surrounded by other family activities such as face painting and live music, as well as wine tasting for the over 21s.
The ceremony will begin on Saturday December 3rd from 4pm to 6pm with the opportunity to visit Santa Claus on the grounds of Tuscan Village and will be attended by the owner of Tuscan Village (and the various Tuscan brands in NH and Mass), Joe, rounded Faro flips the switch on the Tuscan Village’s Christmas tree at 6:00 p.m. (followed by dance performances and Christmas carolers).
Also a fun fact for you. With the Holiday Shoppes at Tuscan Village being outdoors and New England being rather cold outdoors in November and December, Tuscan Village is taking care of you because Mama Faro didn’t raise a fool.
Just off the Holiday Shoppes area is a warm-up tent where you can not only warm your outside (duh) but also your inside with some signature Tuscan Village holiday cocktails – a Mistletoe Margarita and a Feliz Navidad , which is theirs take on an adult hot chocolate.
Go for the shopping and the vibes, stay for the Christmas cocktails. According to the Tuscan Village website, the Holiday Shoppes at Tuscan Village will officially open this Friday, November 18 and will be open Thursday through Sunday through New Year’s Eve.
best part? For the last minute shoppers, the Holiday Shoppes at Tuscan Village are open every single day of Christmas week.
