Cram-A-Cruiser Charity Drive Begins November 27th | news

NORTH ANDOVER – The North Andover Police Department will be holding its Cram-A-Cruiser charity drive to benefit the Merrimack Valley YMCA Food Pantry.

The ride operates on November 27, December 3, December 10, and December 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Market Basket, 350 Winthrop Ave. Donations can also be made to the North Andover Police Department, 1475 Osgood St.

Items needed include canned tuna, canned vegetables, dried beans, pasta, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, soap, and toothbrushes.

Thanksgiving Day breakfast canceled

HAVERHILL — The Touchdown Club’s Thanksgiving Day Breakfast at the Garibaldi Club has been canceled due to the absence of a Haverhill High School Thanksgiving Day football game this year. School officials canceled the planned home game against Lowell amid chicanery involving members of the Hillie football team.

The Not Too Stuffed to Hike event takes place on Friday

NORTH ANDOVER — The State Department of Conservation and Recreation is hosting its “Not Too Stuffed to Hike” event on Friday, November 25 at 10 a.m. at the Harold Parker State Forest, 305 Middleton Road.

The hike will be approximately two miles on moderate trails. The event is best suited for children aged 8 and over.

Smolak Farms is hosting a tree lighting celebration

NORTH ANDOVER – Smolak Farms at 315 South Bradford St. is hosting its annual tree lighting event on Saturday, November 26 from 4pm to 7pm

There is activity at the Big White Barn from 4pm to 6pm. Santa will come on a tractor and help light the Christmas tree at 6:00 p.m

Class reunion scheduled for Saturday

HAVERHILL — The Class of 1987 at Haverhill High School will hold their 35th reunion at Maria’s Family Restaurant, 81 Essex St., Saturday November 26 from 7pm to 11pm. The restaurant will remain closed for this event. A voluntary donation of $15 per person covers appetizers.

Dance ensemble presents “Nutcracker”

SALEM, NH – The New England Dance Ensemble presents “The Nutcracker” on November 26 and 27 at 4 p.m. at Salem High School’s Seifert Performing Arts Center at 44 Geremonty Drive.

The New Hampshire Philharmonic will serve as the pit orchestra for performances of Tchaikovsky’s score. The show will feature guest artists from the Philadelphia and Nashville Ballets. For tickets or more information visit www.nede.org.

Fundraising event planned for the High Plain School

ANDOVER – The Parent-Teacher Organization of High Plain Elementary School is hosting its first Winter Wonderland fundraiser on December 11th from 3-6pm at the HPE Gym. This event is open to the public and includes a craft fair, a Kendra Scott pop-up shop, raffles, food, a tree festival with decorated trees up for grabs and activities for the kids.

Admission is $10 per person with a family maximum of $40.

The PTO is soliciting donations of gift cards, products/services, gift baskets and decorated trees. Sponsorship opportunities are available and your company name will be displayed with your donation. Tax-deductible donations will be raffled off as part of the school’s fundraiser and the PTO will provide you with a donation letter for tax purposes. Bring a new and unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots and receive five free raffle tickets.
