Snow, rain from New Hampshire

The first wintry storm system of the season is still moving on today. The White Mountains and North Country will experience first flyable snow and wintry driving conditions throughout the day. The storm will ease this afternoon and evening, then cold temperatures and snow showers in the mountains will persist through the weekend. As milder air has moved into every mix in southern NH, turning to rain, it will end this afternoon. Snow and a mix in central areas will also end with rain. Snow remains for the most part in the Great North Woods, where 3-6 inches is possible, before winds late in the day. Roads will continue to improve as the day progresses with highs in the 30’s to low 40’s (possibly high 40’s to 50′ along the coast) with a breeze picking up from the NW. Partial clearing tonight will be lows in the 20’s by morning to low 30s. On Thursday there will be cloud and sunshine with snow showers in the north and possibly a few flakes in western areas. It will be windy and cool. Friday looks bright with snow showers in the mountains. Saturday looks bright and cool with some partial sun and a chance of some flakes in the Sunday afternoon. Highs on both days of the weekend are mostly in the mid/high 30’s.
